Kiki Smith is an artist that hasn't stuck with one form of art, she has done sculpture, printmaking, and drawings.I think the artists greatest gesture was showing the connection between humans and animal life. She does a lot of artwork that mix the two, the human usually being a female (often perceived to be a more vulnerable). Most of her work reflect on subjects like death, life, and resurrection, all very broad topics. She takes ideas from around her and incorporates them into her artwork. Ideas from fairy tales or myths. Some also look at her work as sources of knowledge, certain beliefs and story telling. Her artwork is very interesting and quite quirky at times, but she is an artist worth looking at. The work may look like something unimportant and lacking meaning, but you just have to look a little beyond just what you see and think. I personally like her work.
